Single-Ply Track Stud Kit for Ski-Doo and Lynx: Top Gun SP vs Grand Master vs Power Point Plus

Single-ply tracks use one layer of reinforcement instead of two, so a stud made for a conventional two-ply track can pull through. Single-ply studs use a larger head and a backer or support plate designed to spread load over the thinner track. This page compares the three single-ply stud systems on manufacturer-published specifications.

In the Fast-Trac track database, 735 sled fitments use a single-ply track: Ski-Doo 627, Arctic Cat 68, Yamaha 24, and Lynx 16, model years 2008 through 2027. The most common single-ply configuration is a 137-inch track with 1.25-inch lugs, which covers 235 Ski-Doo models including the Renegade, Grand Touring, and GSX lines. The 1.5-inch and 1.6-inch lug versions are the next most common.

“I put off studding my snowmobile for years. I have always studded my previous sleds. I am glad I made the move at the end of the season.”

Larry R., verified buyer, Top Gun SP Stud Kit, March 27, 2026. Judge.me review on fasttractraction.com.

“What a fantastic experience all the way around. Perfect template options. Put these through there paces in the Tug Hill region of New York over the weekend. We had a mix of trail conditions from deep snow, hard-pack, and ice.”

John P., verified buyer, Top Gun SP Stud Kit, January 21, 2026. Judge.me review on fasttractraction.com.

“With over 40 years of riding experience and using different stud manufacturers, fast-trac studs are the best! This is my first year using them and have been very happy with the quality and performance of the Top Gun 1.375 stainless studs.”

Specifications were read from each manufacturer's public product page on September 9, 2026 and may change. All prices are the manufacturer's MSRP as published on its own website on that date. Installed prices add each manufacturer's published stud price (nut included) to its published backer or support-plate price, using the plainest finish for the low end and a powder-coated color for the high end. Fast-Trac prices already include the backer and nut, and every backer color is the same price.
