Studs are sold by their effective length. You'd expect that to be how far the stud sticks out past your track. That's a fair assumption. Here's where it actually starts.
At the top of a 1/4" backer, and that backer sits on top of your track. So the stud reaches 1/4" higher than the number looks.
On paper it looks like 1/8". You're actually getting about 3/8" past your lugs.
Cobra track? Cobra lug heights include about 0.10" of nubs on top. Those don't count. A 1.352" Cobra is really a 1.25" lug. A 1.6" Cobra is really a 1.50" lug.
Every pairing we sell lands at about 3/8" of penetration.
