Technical Specifications
A 1.6 Cobra track takes a 1.625" Snowmobile stud. While the size looks too close, the Cobra track has nubs on the top of the lug that count as overall height. The effective lug height is actually 1.5" on this track. It should be run with our XL or SP series backer in combination with a 5/8" nut. The Ski-Doo sleds after 2008 will feature a single ply track and require use of our SP series stud kit.
Understanding Cobra Track Design
The Cobra track's unique design features nubs on top of the lugs that contribute to the overall 1.6" measurement. However, these nubs don't affect studding calculations - the effective lug height for stud penetration remains 1.5", which is why the 1.625" stud provides the optimal 3/8" penetration ratio.
